Full Moon In Virgo Effects

full moon Mar 05, 2023

The full moon in Virgo gives us a fresh perspective on our health and how we feel physically. The sign is also known for perfectionism, self-criticism, worry and organization. Therefore, health issues that were lying dormant may make themselves more apparent due to stress.

We may also find ourselves more frustrated with our expectations when it comes to relationships. Raising a discussion about unbalanced dynamics before conflict breaks out is probably a wise move — but, of course, it may be easier said than done!

The full moon in Virgo is at 10:00 pm PST at 10° on March 24, 2024. So pay attention to how you feel between the dates of March 21 — March 27. Note that I am using the Vedic Zodiac System.

Duality

Pisces and Virgo, as opposite signs, have a few things in common. One big way they overlap is a tendency to get into relationships that are unbalanced, where one person is always taking care of the other, and the favor is rarely returned.

Virgo excels at physical acts of service, while Pisces is often drawn to spiritual ideals of selflessness. Before you can release an unhealthy relationship dynamic, however, you might have to acknowledge what you got out of things being the way they were.

If you have been the person who takes care of someone else without expecting an appropriate level of reciprocation, you may need to release your desire to be powerful enough to save the world. You could also need to release your fear of seeming vulnerable to others.

If you have been the person someone else takes care of in an unhealthy way, you may need to acknowledge the part of you that enjoyed being fussed over before you release your feelings of entitlement.

You might also need to release your fear that you wouldn’t do a good enough job if you did step up more.

Full Moon Impact

This full moon of Virgo in 2024 is a Lunar Eclipse, meaning that its effects will be amplified and huge changes will happen in your life around this time related to the previously mentioned themes.

Full Moons are usually a good time to set intentions and practice releasing and letting go of things that are no longer necessary for you to hold onto. But since this full moon is a Lunar Eclipse, it's best to lay low.

This full moon will be activated by an opposition with Neptune and a trine with Pluto.

The Moon in a trine with Pluto will give deep and passionate emotions. It can also increase your emotional sensitivity and psychic perception.

In opposition with Neptune, you may feel confusion around your feelings and like you don't know what is the right direction, or decision to make. It's wise to default to the advice I gave earlier, which was to lay low. Let things pay out naturally without trying to force, control or change anything.

Try to release:

  • Fear of Communication. Mercury, the planet of communication, governs Virgo, and therefore rules the throat charka. During this full moon, you may have to release your fear of being misunderstood or judged by your partner.
  • Negative Self-Talk. Release any negative self-talk or self-critical thoughts. Virgo energy can sometimes amplify self-criticism, so use this Full Moon to cultivate self-compassion and focus on positive affirmations.
  • Unrealistic Expectations. If you find yourself setting unrealistic expectations for yourself or others, consider letting go of these expectations. Embrace a more practical and realistic approach to avoid unnecessary disappointment.

Watch out for:

  • Overthinking and Worrying. Virgo is ruled by Mercury, which can enhance analytical thinking. However, be cautious not to overanalyze situations or let worries take over. Focus on finding practical solutions rather than getting lost in the details.
  • Perfectionism. Virgo energy can sometimes lead to a quest for perfection. While attention to detail is valuable, avoid becoming overly critical of yourself and others. Embrace imperfections and recognize that not everything needs to be flawless.
  • Health issues. Virgo represents our physical health and wellness; you may want to be proactive about your wellness by scheduling an appointment with your primary care physician to make sure you are on the up and up. Also, check in with your mental health; starting a yoga or meditation practice could be a good idea during this period.

Get ready to enjoy:

  • Increased Productivity. Virgo is associated with practicality and efficiency. The Full Moon in Virgo can bring a focus on getting things done, helping you feel more organized and productive in your daily tasks.
  • Clarity and Insight. Virgo’s analytical nature may provide a clearer perspective on situations. Use this time to gain insights into your life, make decisions, and assess your goals with a practical mindset.

Astro-Yoga for the Full Moon

If you find yourself anxious or worried about the past or future, remember to come back to the present moment by mindfully connecting to your 5 senses.

Building a yoga practice and living by the 8 limbs of yoga will also help you manage stress and anxiety so that they no longer control your life.

Virgo is also ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication and is associated with the throat chakra.

Yoga to strengthen the throat chakra can be a good move here because you may need to have some difficult conversations. Throat chakra poses include bridge, shoulder stand, neck rolls, and fish pose.
